Especially for avid travelers, whose travel is not about admiring the colorful scenery and ancient architecture, influential publication “The Forbes” has published a rating of the most colorful, flamboyant, exciting holidays of the world. The rating publication included the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, the Munich Oktoberfest, and more.

So, in the first place among deserving your visiting to the holidays, according to the edition of “The Forbes”, is the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, which is held annually in the Brazilian capital on 2-5 February.

The history of carnival in Rio starts from the middle of the 19th century, and its tradition is rooted in the European middle Ages. Today, the carnival is an extravaganza of music, dance, theatrical performances, which annually brings together hundreds of thousands of Brazilians and tourists, writes League.

In the second position of the rating – carnival “Mardi Gras” (from the French. – fat Tuesday), which is annually held February 2-5 in New Orleans.

Mardi Gras in a religious context is analogous to the carnival, and is preceded by the Great Catholic post. Despite the fact that Mardi Gras is celebrated in Roman Catholic countries, it recognized the capital is New Orleans, where “fat Tuesday” is celebrated with parades, processions, carnival. The streets of the city during the holiday is filled with townspeople in frightening costumes and masks.

The third position of the ranking is “Oktoberfest” beer festival. According to witnesses, Oktoberfest is the largest folk festival in the world. The festival is held annually in Munich in mid-September – early October.

Each year Oktoberfest is visited by 6 million people. The festival takes place on the “Theresienwiese” in Munich.

The fourth position in the ranking is the celebration of New Year’s eve in Las Vegas. On January 31 in Las Vegas in order to participate in one of the world’s largest new year’s parties, attracts millions of tourists. Do not lag behind the General trend, and celebrities – a lot of Hollywood stars holds a new year in the casino capital.

On the fifth run of the bulls, July 6-14 every year is held in the Spanish town of Pamplona, Navarra. According to witnesses, this action beauty is not inferior to the ballet, to inflame the same emotions the running of the bulls is unparalleled.

The tradition of holding the festival was born in 1986 in San Francisco, when local representatives of creative professions have built and burned on the beach wooden giant. Later, the festival moved to the Black rock desert in Nevada.

In seventh position is Bastille Day. The anniversary of the storming of the Bastille – which launched the French revolution – the French celebrated every year on 14 July.

Today this holiday is celebrated with military parades, fireworks and feasts.

Eighth place ranking – the gay parade, which is held annually on July 28-29 in San Francisco, California.

The history of the parade of sexual minorities begins with 1973, then a similar event was held for the first time, under the auspices of the struggle for the rights and freedoms of sexual minorities. Today, the event has lost much of this kind of social implication, becoming the first place in a spectacular event that attracts to the city and millions of tourists.

Closes rating “the love Parade”. To date, “the love Parade” is one of the largest events of the year not only in Germany but throughout Europe. In 2006, the Parade was held in Berlin in 2007 in Essen, in 2008, according to the plans, will be held in Dortmund.
